Paradise Heaven for 'A Dog's Afterlife'
This is a background for the dog project that i did in Photoshop. We have changed the name for the dog project instead of 'Dog Heaven,' it is now ' A Dog's Afetrlife.' Overall i am pleased with this piece espiecally the lighting to show light coming through the sky.
Eliza falling into Woods
This is my drawing of when Eliza falls into the woods. Basically i used Photoshop using different shaped brushes to create shapes and using the colours of what would be in a woods like browns, oranges, yellows and reds. I also lighting effects to add to the background to add sunlight reflecting off the floor.
Title Page With Illustration for 'Chasing Birds,' Project
This is my illustration i did for the bird project using pencil and then chalk to add colour to make it more interesting. I also used a brown pro-marker pen for Eliza's hair. Then after i scanned in my image into Photoshop i added in effects such as lighting to give a real sense of life in the image.

Rough background for Paradise heaven using Photoshop
This design I did I used Photoshop using a watercolour brush and adding effects such as lightening to add real-life feel to the drawing but still keeping with the style of Rachel Gilbert. For example I tried to do the trees in her style and also use a liquify effect because her illustration look like they are watery and melting off the page.

More designs involving this time background designs of when Eliza falls into the woods and when the dreamy sequence...
These designs are just rough drawings, the wood designs are just pencil sketches. But the dreamy sequence designs i did were in Photoshop using a range of effects to make it look like Eliza is dreaming. I also tried using effects to make it look watercoloured like the style of vogue and black lines to make have an art deco feel to the piece.
Final dream sequence this is what the visual is going to look like:

Designs for Production Bible
These are my rough character and background designs for both projects for pre production 'Chasing Birds,' and 'Dog Heaven.' These rough designs wil be put into the production bible to show the process of our art work being put into it. For these designs each of us were trying to capture the style of Rachel Gilbert, a previous falmouth illustration student for the dog character. And for the girl, Eliza and the background of the kitchen we are capturing the style of vogue in the 1920's and also a art deco feel aswell. We had a meeting today and decided to go for sammy's design for the dog and for Eliza we are still deciding but we think we are going for Eline's main look for the character but have body form of mine and sammy's because there body shape are similar.

Production Bible beginning process
First of all for the production bible we are going to draw rough drawings of the two main characters. From both stories one being Eliza and the other being dog and from these designs we will then choose the best design we like from someone in our group and use that style of drawing for rest of the designs. We will also do rough background designs but we cant do that until we have our production meeting tonight and discuss what everyone is going to be doing and decide what scene we are going
Stop Motion summary so far.....
This is episode 2 of our stop motion animation that im working with sammy on. In this episode of 'The Sammy and Hannah Show,' these two characters have some magic goo which envolves into animals and objects. For example the goo changes from a dog into a hat, then into a lollipop and then finally an octopus that attacks the face. So we are up to the part in the animation where the goo morphes into a doggy and the characters are shocked by this.

Styles we went for our pre projects
The style we went for our 'Chasing Birds,' project is art deco and 1920's vogue, as a group we was pleased that we got these styles because we like them.
For the 'Dog Heaven,' the style we had to go for was a falmouth illustration student and the person we went for was Rachel Gilbert.

Our second idea for pre
Theres a dog and his owner in a accident both die, dog goes
to animal heaven owner goes to human heaven. There are two heavens dog dies
ends up in animal heaven but doesn’t get that his owner is not with him. Then the
dog hears whispers about another heaven. ( the dog is intelligent). In this animal heaven the dog has people
qualities like they can talk and the animal heaven is still living in real life.
Zebra feeds them and then one day dog sees the zebra take off a mask and turns
out to be a hippie guy the dog . On his journey he documents his encounters
with the days ahead.
The dog follows the hippie to people heaven tackles the
hippie guy but they make friends and the hippie explains how the heavens are
separated. So the hippie helps the dog find his owner by disguising the dog in
human clothes and teaching him to act like a human in people heaven. The hippie
works in the palace kitchens and decides to give the dog a job so he can hide
there and stay in people heaven in hope find his over. But the dog job was take
food over to animal heaven but when he returns back there he gets captured by
the cats, the cats blackmail him to stay but he leaves to then find his owner
in human heaven.

Production report on funny for 15
Production Report
DGA210 Digital Animation
Practice 3
This project is called Funny for 15
and we got placed into groups of three. For me I was with Jordan and Katie. So
to begin with we firstly had to come up with an idea that would make the
audience laugh because that was the main focus in this project. The idea that
we went for in the end was an idea that I suggested that characters start
laughing out of time in a weird way, and that the characters were laughing at
something. Before we went any further we made sure that this idea is the one we
should go for and checked with the tutors to see if the idea was ok and
listened to what they said and so we went forward with the idea.
For this project I was part of the pre-
production process I edited and sorted out the timing in the animatic. Also I
drew many background designs in different styles including watercolour, oil
pastel and digital painting. Personally I preferred the digital background I
did and so did the rest of my group. I did make changes to its original
painting because when consulting with my group they thought the background
should have different shades of grey instead of its colour shades of brown,
like a sepia tone. The reason they thought it should be grey so it contrast
well with the robot characters because they were designed in greyish colours as
well. The background I was going for was to be set in a robot factory so it had
to be bold and have perspective. To show the background had depth in the
drawing.
Also for this project I edited the
animation onto premiere pro to add a title sequence and making sure the timing
is right. To be then exported as a fifteen second animation onto a disc. Then
shown to rest of the class and tutors.
Overall in the end we didn’t use
the backgrounds that I did, we used a different background for the animation.
On the whole I do think the animation was ok, because this project we got put
into groups, which can be quite hard but its what the industry do and we just
got on with it. And for the production process it was nice to do more digital
painting and learn more about and the effects that the updated version
Photoshop has to offer. Personally I found this project quite hard because
making an animation funny is difficult in my eyes because no matter whom you
show the
animation too everyone has
different sense of humour but if you have made someone laugh then the animation
was successful. If I did this project again I would use simpler characters
because me just practising animating in flash I found difficult and the robots
were difficult shapes to work with. Also I would change the colour of the
background because I think if you had different colours in the background it
would stand out more, instead of the background being similar colours to the
robots.
