In this last week......... for THE BIRD
In this last week for The Bird i have been working on some concept designs for the layouts of our animation, in particular for the African scenes. For examples i have been drawing trees, mountains, natives and other things. I have based my drawings on African art to give a style to the drawings. We have also recruited Anna Bohac to become our new art director for the film. Her job at the moment is now she is taking my designs and cleaning them up and refining them to make them look finish.

This week for the weeklies
So when we found out the film got through, our feedback was to add more pauses in our animatic to create more tension and atmosphere. As well think about layouts and what shots to do and what to prioritize first, and collect and strong team to help animatic and anything else that we would like. So we have made an updated animatic, updated zebra test animation with design, animation reference, lav tests, have made contact with a music student and a musician in Ireland for our film, and i am currently working on a layout for the zebra scene in the savannah which Imogen is animating for us. i have enjoyed working on this layout learning about perspective and how to create depth and get proportion right.
Pitch
Here are some pictures from our 3rd yr pitch, we did in front of industry people. This is for our film idea that we all pitched to industry and to get their full opinion. From their response and talking to the lecturers the project was at an amber stage. This meant that we had to prove ourselves and produce an animatic to see if the story worked. After discussion about our animatic our lecturers came to a decision and put our film threw! :)
